I wonder what would have happened if the Mince had played the way they did in the second half for the full hour? It certainly would have been a much closer contest.
I good début from Michael I thought. The good news is that he's up for playing again so that's another "official" reserve to add to the pile.
Next week Scott is away with work and I'm not available either so depending on Martie's work and Steve's injury, there may or may not be a Hat of Doom. If anyone else can't play, please let me know.

Unfortunately Robert was involved in a car accident last night so won't be able to play for a few weeks. I'm sure we all wish him the best for a speedy recovery and are also sure that Karma isn't getting him back for pocketing the Killer money last year ;)
That left us a man short with all the usual reserves unable to play but luckily, I remembered that one of my friends' regular game has stopped due to lack of interest and he said he'd be happy to fill in for us now and again. So, gents, I give you Michael, AKA, Chachi (he's the one on the right):

Mike says that he's a defensive midfielder (think Michael Carrick), a 6/10 for fitness and skill wise, can take and give a pass without tripping over his own feet and hopes to be able to hold his own. I haven't seen him play for years but based on the info I have, I reckon he's probably much the same as myself but I've put him in my team so he knows someone.

Neil's still recovering from some lurgie, Si and Martie are working so no Hat of Doom this week either!
In further news, Chocolate Steve's ankle has gone again and Andy's going to watch the St. Mirren vs Rangers game so Paul and Robert make up the ten.
NO MORE DROPOUTS PLEASE!

I'm in London Thursday so this post it coming to you sort of from the past (I wrote it before the game but it wasn't published until after it). I hope last night went well and I hope it was close but that my team just won in the end.
Next week Foxy, Martie and Si should be back so we may have a full squad again. That means the threat of the Hat of Doom continues. As always, if anyone can't play or fancies a week of for what ever reason, then please let me know ASAP.

Foxy's having to work late, as it Martie and Si is taking his lady friend out for dinner as it's her birthday. No Hat of Doom - all Hardcore game. See you tomorrow.
UPDATE - teams are up. Picked by Foxy seeing as he's not playing.

A better game than last week I thought. Much more competitive all the way through with all ten players getting stuck right in to the end.
Next week Alan and Kyle will be back but not sure about Martie (large pile of shit has hit a rather large fan at his work apparently) so chances are there will be a couple of names out the Hat. If you've not heard from me by Tuesday afternoon, assume you're playing. As always, if anyone fancies a rest or has other plans then please let me know ASAP so we can dodge the Hat if at all possible.

And so begins a year of trying to balance the teams with Steve in the squad - it's gonna be tricky so fingers crossed they work out! Kyle and Alan are resting and Martie's working so all Hardcore for tonight which looks like it might be colder than last week! Frick!

We started the week with a full squad of thirteen but when the Hat began to show itself, Alan was happy to sit out and recover from his jet lag, Kyle was happy to sit out and catch up with stuff after his 52 hour journey home and, surprise, surprise, Martie is having to work (poor bugger).
So no HoD this week but a good chance it could make it's season début next week so be warned.

Three more weeks of that cold apparently but hopefully the more the pitch gets played on, the less slippy it'll get (unless we get more snow of course!).
Maybe not the start to the season that half of us were hoping for but it was good to get a run around after two weeks of sloth-like behavior. It seemed that the Mince team had most of the running so they can mark Steve when he gets back next wee ;).
At the moment we have a full squad of 13 which means the Hat of Doom x 3! If anyone can't play or doesn't fancy the cold again please let me know.

So week one and already we're into the reserves, despite having a squad of 13 this season! Steven and Kyle are snowboarding, Alan is in New Zealand and Ross has disappeared to Southampton at the last minute. Luckily Craigo can step in and so we have our ten.
I've picked the teams but I think a lot of it will come down to who still fit enough to run about (not me by the way). It'll be nice to get a warm up game in before we have to endure a season of chasing Steven round the place!
Speak of warm up (see what I did there?) I suggest you all bring an extra top or two. The temperature's meant to be around -4 by the time we kick off!
