Didn't they do well? A close fought game with some nice football played form both teams. How the Mince managed to throw away a five goal lead is a bit disturbing but all credit to the Tatties was hanging on in there.
Next week is a 7:30 kick off. Procedures are now in place to make sure that we don't forget to call for a pitch dead on 9am again. The pitch booking staff can only apologise and beg your forgiveness.
Alan and Scott can't make the later KO time, Andy is on holiday, Wills has a family thing on and it's my wedding anniversary. If anyone else can't make it, please let me know ASAP so I can get numbers sorted.
Finally, I'm still waiting to hear who's interested in the Ian Younger Sixes - if you want to play, please drop me an email.

Si's turn this week and he's come up with, after some humming and hawing, two pretty evenly matched teams I think.
Martie was going to be back, but he's getting a visit from the new big wig at RBS and so can't make it. Foxy's got a wee bruise on his ankle and so has pooved out.
Ross is the tenth man.

Congratulations to Andy who, not only finished the London Marathon, but did so in 4:13 which is a fantastic time, especially for his first one and in the heat too.
Tam the Bam was running his second London Marathon this year and did it in an amazing time of 3:40 - wow! I wonder if he wore his red boots?
Well done to both those guys. Andy will be back in a few weeks once he's rested and recovered.

Then we fell away and the Mincers punished us - a well deserved victory for them as a bunch of our goals were a lucky break and if it wasn't for some of Scott's individual ones, we'd have been no where in that game IMHO.
Anyway, onto better news. Martie's defo back next week! Huzzah! He also brings news of the Ian Younger Sixes - this year on Saturday 13th June. Please let me know if you're interested.
Next week could see a Hat of Doooom situation. Stay tuned to find out!

It was Scott's turn to pick the teams this week and he's had ten Hardcore players to choose from! We've from famine to feast for today's game and almost had a Hat of Dooooom situation. Martie is back in Scotland now although in Edinburgh. He's going to test out the travel times this week and if it works out, he'll be back playing next week!
Best of luck to Andy for the London Marathon on Sunday. He did say he'll be available to play next week but I think he'll probably want to rest after this triumphant completion of twenty six miles!

For the first 35-40 minutes, it was as close as they come with either team looking like they could take it but after that, the Mince kept going while the Tatties ran out of steam a wee bit. Towards the end, the Mince came back to life while the Mince seemed to switch off but there wasn't enough time to fully rescue the game.
Next week sees the return of many regulars - Gordo, Foxy and Si should all be back, Alan might be back and we may even see the return of Martie! Andy is still off as the Marathon approaches.
That does mean that the reserve spots have dropped dramatically so I'd like to thank the guys that have been helping out recently. Ta lads.

Back to everyone taking their turn to pick the teams. This week it's Neil!
Stu's back but Foxy's out. Scott's back but Gordo's out. Grant and Paul continue their reserve runs with the return of Ross and the first outing of the season for Brad!
Pitch 8 this week.

What the heck happened last night? Did we fast forward in time to see what our games will be like in ten years when we've all lost a bit of pace? Anyway, a big thanks to Paul's mate John and Andy's mate Chris (who played even though no one he knew was playing). Also thanks to Foxy who wasn't meant to be playing but came in off the bench to make up the numbers.
Next week everyone one who was out this week is STILL out save Stuart, who's back, but Foxy's on holiday so we're still looking for numbers. Paul and Grant will play again and hopefully Steven and Ross will be fit which will give us ten.
I've updated the stats if you're keen to see how you're doing.

Too many blouses in the Hardcore at the moment, all dropping out and making my life difficult! Out this week are:
- Si - still injured
- Scott - at the Lionel Ritchie concert
- Alan - baby sitting while his wife is in NZ
- Andy - at the St Mirren vs Rangers game tonight
- Stuart - has a cold
- Martie - AWOL as usual (though may be back in a couple of weeks!)
Even the regular reserves are dropping like flies:
- Craig - busted toe still
- Jon - on holiday
- Steven - ill and injured
- Ross - watching the Liverpool game
Grant's back and Paul makes his second appearance in as many weeks. Paul's pulled on of his mates in (John) as has Andy (Chris), even though he's not playing.
With a couple of unknowns, we've split the teams so there's 3 regulars, one reserve and one ringer in each team. Hopefully it'll be close but with Ringers' Law, you never know.

Just a quick update as I'm not in the office on Thursday. Good game for the first half, but then the Mince seemed to get too big a lead. Some nice football from both sides again.
Si's back next week after resting his baws but Alan is off until the 22nd. Maybe Martie will be back? Who knows.
Gordo has picked the teams this week (and the monikers). There's a new name on the sheet this week - Paul. Paul Russell used to work at IDOX and was my opposite number in the DC challenge matches.
Paul's a decent player - think of a lighter weight Scott - who's looking for another game (he's playing regularly at the moment) to up his fitness. How will he fit in and what will it mean for the teams? I have no idea but Gordo must really want a win!
Just in case anyone's forgotten, this Sunday is Andy's afternoon booze-up - The Sunday Session. I hope you'll all be able to make it. See Andy about tickets tonight it you want.
UPDATE - Gordo has taken another look at the team and thinks they are close so they will not be changing. He is so confident that he says he will double his donation to Andy if it's a white wash.
UPDATE TO THE UPDATE - Gordo is claiming "April Fools" on us all and the new and updated teams are up.
