Well no win for Birthday boys Stuart and Scott and not a whole lot to celebrate for the Mince in general. Plain and simple, it was poor defending that cost us the game last night. Going forward Scott and Stuart combined quite well and Gordo was hitting them from half way to great effect but too many times there was a two on one at the back and too many times we let the runner get away from us. The Tatties all worked well together and defended well too and so thoroughly deserved their victory. Rom seemed a bit handier than we'd initially thought and fitted in well with his team mates so well played to him.
I've picked an arbitrary score for last night's game as everyone lost count. Scott shouted at one point that it was still less than ten and after that point it was pretty much tit for tat so I made up the scores based on that. Any objections, bite me.
Next week Kyle, Alan and Si should be back but I'm not sure about William. Martie is back down to London.
The stats have been updated to include Andy but he's just kept at the bottom for the moment until we have our mid-season night oot and have the chance to give him a proper promotion. Andy's played almost every game since the beginning of October last year so I don't think anyone will object to a mid-season promotion - if you do just let me know.

It was Scott's birthday yesterday so Happy Birthday Bro! It was Martie's last week - he's almost a distant memory these days but Happy Birthday none the less big man. UPDATE - It's The Boy Stu's birthday today too apparently so all the best to him! I think that means that you've got to let his team win tonight ;)
This week Martie and Alan are on holiday (not together), Si and Wills and still resting their various injuries and Kyle is feeling cruddy so decided to take this week off.
Andy, Robert and Grant are playing and Craig was meant to be filling in too but he's off sick too. That leaves a spot for someone new. Rom has recently joined our QA team and since then he has been keen to play fives with us. Rom says he's an attacking midfielder and rates himself at 6/10 in most (footballing) departments. He also enjoys long walks in the park and the music of Rick Astley (those last parts may not be 100% true).
Stupid wee pitch tonight. Good news. Foxy called the pitches and they've moved us to pitch 7 for tonight's game. Huzzah!

Normally I don't mind losing a game when it's close as that normally makes it a good game but last night just felt different. I was gutted to lose last night but I'm not sure why. It felt scrappy and had a bit of an edge to it and maybe a bit more controversy than we normally have to deal with. Dunno - there was something and I think we should have won. Anyway, as a wise man once said, "It's only a gemme".
Next week Martie is in Madrid, not London but away none the less and Alan is on holiday too. Andy will be the tenth man as usual.
MOTM is up so away and vote and I'll be interested to read people's thoughts on last night's game.

Kick off is back to 6:30pm this week but you should all know that by now. Squad news:
- Stuart's at Ibrox
- Martie's in London
- Will's knee is being rested
- Si's twisted his ankle playing for another team (how very dare you?!)
- Neil's got rehearsals (but would have played had the time not originally been 7:30 so thanks to Neil for being understanding)
Andy, Craig, Robert and Grant fill in the gaps. We're on park eight this week which has just been refurbished so that'll be nice.
In other news, did anyone pick up Scott's Puma ball after the game a couple of week's ago? Scott didn't go home with it and it's a good one so we'd like to find it.
Hmmmm, that reminds me, if Scott's not got a ball and Si's not playing so he won't bring the evil yellow one and Kyle's not got the shiny half and half Nike one, then we don't have a ball! I'll either pop out and buy one or see if Gordo can bring his.
UPDATE - Gordo's ball's at hime maw'n'paw's so we have no ball. Rather than hiring one of the really crap ones from the pitches, I'll pop out to Greaves and buy one. If we don't find Scott's then we'll need a new one anyway as that yellow thing is terrible. I was going to get Martie to take it back coz it was egged but he's never here to give it to him so we've probably missed the boat on that one.
UPDATE TO THE UPDATE - I got a ball. It was only a tenner and was the least shiny of the cheaper balls. There was a poor selection to be honest. We'll see how it goes.

I think it's safe to say that Gordo won't be donning his super short shorts that seem to have come right out of the 80s - they only invited the opposition to kick him a lot so sorry big man.
The game was quite scrappy (I suppose the weather didn't help much) with mistakes from both sides but that helped level the game and it was quite tight all the way through. I don't think the score line reflects how close it was as with only a couple of minutes to go, the Tatties were only up by one. A late flurry secured victory.
Next week it's still a 7:30pm kick off. I've got our name down on the waiting list in case someone cancels. So far the people that can't play are Neil, Stuart, William. Those that are a maybe are a Alan and Martie. Confirmed are me, Si, Kyle, Andy, Foxy and Gordo. I've still to check with Scott and the reserves. Either way, we should have ten for the later kick off time.

Teams are up for tonight's game.
Unfortunately, Foxy just forgot to book the pitch for next week's game. By the time he remembered, all the 6:30pm slots were gone. That means that next week's game will be a 7:30pm kick off. If anyone can't make it then please let me know ASAP as if we can't get ten then we'll have to cancel the pitch by Monday at the latest or we'll have to pay.
Also, don't blame Foxy - he's booked every week for years now and this is his only slip up. He's not as young as he used to be you know.
Tonight's game still kicks off at 6:30pm as usual

I'm back but Foxy, Scott, Martie and William all can't play this week so Andy, Craigo and Robert will be making up the ten. Teams to follow tomorrow at some point.

I wasnt going to add to Iain comments but i got a message off Wills telling me his Dark top is dirty because he used it last night so i ve switched the teams around. Get your kit man (women) in order next time William.
so dont forget i ve done this please!
Seen as I have added a comment can i just say congratulations to Mr and Mrs Cochrane, If its a boy Kyle is a great name! kyle's tend to be very good at football, good looking and popular, remember that!
reading the comments by your sister Iain it seems the competitions have already started. ;-)
It maybe wasn't the smartest idea for me to play Fitbaw last week as it didn't help my recovery at all and instead, it turned into the flu - bah. Therefore, I'm out this week which lets Andy back into the squad. I'm working from home today so Kyle will be running the show. Have a good game lads.
