First draw of the season

Thursday, February 28, 2008

Great game last night (at least I thought so) and I reckon a draw was a fair result - both teams were up by a few at one point but everyone kept going right till the bitter end (when we were just about to score the winner by the way). Away and pick your MOTM please.

Next week Martie might be back which would leave us with eleven hardcore so potentially a Hat of Doom situation. If anyone can't play then please let me know ASAP.

Stats have been updated too.

Late fitness test

Wednesday, February 27, 2008

It was meant to be an all regulars affair this week but I am feeling like poop at the moment. I've called Andy and if he can make it back from his work in time, then he'll play, if not, you're stuck with me. Maybe I can cough on the opposition to put them off?

I'll get the teams up as soon as I hear from Andy either way.

Oooh it were reet close

Wednesday, February 20, 2008

I don't think any team has won this year when they start off from behind but all credit to the Tatties for fighting back. Equal credit to the Mince men for their fight back to pull the game level and then almost pinch it at the death. Best game of the year to date I think. Pick your MOTM please.

Martie's still away in London next week but Foxy should have finished his "baby sitting". I hope he didn't spit the dummy after that late goal.

No Hat of Dooooom

Monday, February 18, 2008

As I suspected might happen, Mr Fox has pulled out of Wednesday's game citing "babysitting" as his excuse which is Foxy code for "The Tic are playing and I want to watch it on the telly". So if no one else bails out then it'll be a full squad of hardcore this week for the first time this year!

UPDATE - Martie is back in London and could be in London most Wednesdays for the rest of the year apparently so he'll play when he can. That means that Andy is in this week again.

I've also made a few style changes to the website (changed the colours of the tabs at the top depending on whether they are selected or not). I've also added a themes page. Make sure you hold down shift and press the refresh button in your browser to see all the changes.

Victory!

Thursday, February 14, 2008

Phew! Finally but a close run thing it was. Again, it was a flurry of goals at the beginning that set up the lead. The Mince fought back really well by stopping us scoring for almost 15 minutes or so and at one point it was all level. A couple of goals at the end from Grant and Foxy sealed the deal for the Tatties. A lot of nice football played from both sides so well done lads.

Next week I expect the return of Martie, William, Alan and Stuart which would give us a Hat of Doooom situation. If anyone is unavailable then let me know ASAP.

The Big One

Gordo's back baby! He played his first game last night for his Tuesday lot and is walking today so that can only be a good sign. Neil is also back but Stuart is away to Ibrox again (third time in four weeks!). Martie is in Iceland and Alan unfortunately had to go to a funeral today. Andy, Grant and Craigo make up the ten players.

Mr Lover-lover

Kyle requested a Valentines Day theme so here you go! Now when the missus catches you checking the site you can tell her you're looking for VD gifts for her.

Return of the Gordo

Thursday, February 07, 2008

I'm not going to say much about last night's game in case I spit the dummy again but let's just leave it at terrible. The Tatties played well - always available for a pass and worked hard in defence too so thoroughly deserved their victory. Despite some good individual goals from Foxy and Kyle, and some continuous hard work from Grant, we were just too poor defensively.

Neil's back next week, Martie is in Iceland but Gordo has returned from his three month sabbatical! He claims to be fit after climbing mountains on three continents so we'll see if he remembers to bring his shooting boots next week. Unfortunately, it means there is no space for Andy for the first time this season - sorry Mr Hood!

Mini pitch

Wednesday, February 06, 2008

All the pitches were booked last week other than number 11 - the wee tiny one up on the hill. I'll try change it when I get up there but they said that they are fully booked tonight. Ah well - it just means less running about.

Martie is in London and Neil has a spoken word gig. Andy and Grant make up the ten. Gordo is also back from his travels and has declared himself fit for selection for next week!

Player profiles

Tuesday, February 05, 2008

I've always wanted to add player profiles to the site for a bit of banter and finally, after literally tens of minutes of work, they are now live. All that's missing is some information from you guys to complete them. Go have a look! I'll drop you all an email later today to get the required info. Over time, I'll add profiles for those that have left us and maybe even the reserves too.

There's also a new about section that also has the club rules and the history of Fitbaw (courtesy of Michael Tamburrini).
