The cost for hiring the pith has been bumped from £45 to £47 - bah. That means there will only be £3 going into the kitty each week from now on. Next year's Xmas night out may have to be some toast and one can of beer each!
Anyway, cracker of a game last night - we were up, they were up, if was a draw for ages, then we finally went up right at the end. It's much better when it's a close game like that and the rain didn't seem to dampen the spirits either. MOTM is uo for your voting pleasure.
Next week I think we have a full squad of hardcore - Foxy and Gordo are back and Martie should be getting his back shift off. Sorry SEPA! The week after that, Neil will be back so then we'll have eleven hardcore - wow!

Neil has been given the all clear by the doctor to resume training so he has asked me to pencil him in for his comeback game which will be the 9th of November!
Neil wishes to start off in goals and see how it goes which is a sensible approach. Neil hasn't played since the beginning of May so we'll see if he can match all our new found fitbawing skills *ahem*.
For those of you unfamiliar with Neil, here's a wee reminder...

This week's teams are up. If there are any problems, then I'll not be about as I'm off learning how to be a fireman (or maybe just a fire marshal - not quite as glamorous!), so you'll have to sort out them yourselves!

In my dismay and disgust at last night's game, I forgot to mention that the second goal scored last night was the 1000th goal of the season.
That goal was scored by none other than Mr Karl Reid - well done Karl! I'm sure this won't be forgotten come awards time.
In honour of Karl's achievement, I give you this picture!

We were all pish, and they were all great - simple as that. Now go vote and we'll say no more about it.
Next week Foxy and Gordo are away but we see the return of Martie, Alan, and Stuart. I think Donny and Jon will be taking the spare places.

Martie is on a back shift - SEPA Jon takes his usual spot
Gordo is going to Ibrox - SEPA Donny continues his recent run of appearances
Stuart is going to Ibrox - A third visit this season for William
Alan is on holiday - Lo and behold, the return of the Ponto!
Two reserves each side - teams are picked. Game on!

Believe it or not, there are only a possible eleven games left this season. That also means that it's time to start thinking about the "annual Fitbaw Xmas Night Oot!".
Last year seemed to be a great success - we went to the pub after work, ate cheapo pub grab so that the kitty would go further and drank some pints. Nice and simple. I would like to propose that we just do the same again. It could be a different venue if you like. Any suggestions are welcome - just leave them in the comments.
Last year is was a Tuesday which wasn't ideal so the plan is to have it on a Friday this year so we don't all have to go to work with a hang over. In fact, the ideal date would be the 9th December - it's a Friday, it's in December but it's not too close to Xmas and all the nights out that go with it.
Now, who will be attending? I'd like to say, if you've played, then you can come, but realistically, I don't imagine that all our reserves will turn up so I'm only going to say to the SEPA boys and Ponto. Tom, of course will be getting invited too but he'll be too busy with his merchant banking to make it I presume.
Now we come to the kitty. Everyone has contributed different amounts and blah, blah, blah. I would ask that if the reserve guys are coming then they make a wee extra contribution to the kitty. It's all going to get spent on us anyway so it doesn't seem too much to ask. I hope that's OK with everyone.
There may even be awards again this year - you'll just have to wait!
So there we go. Thoughts? Comments? Ideas? Complaints? Leave them all in the comments section please so everyone can see.
It may not have been a draw but it was certainly closer than the scoreline suggested. No score at all after 20 minutes and level after almost half an hour. From there, the Tatties had a burst of goals, opening up a lead, but the Mincers pulled quite a few back. It sat at 9-5 for almost 10 minutes, until the Tatties got a few break away goals, matched by some hard fought ones from the Mince. Final score, 12-7 to the Tats. This was Iain Cochrane, at Pitch 6, Toonheid.
MOTM pool is up so go vote please.
Martie (who was seen by many on TV last night during the Scotland game) is on a back shift next week. Alan is having a wee holiday next week but hopefully Karl will be fighting fit by then which will leave us two short. Good old Jon and Donny will be taking their usual places in the starting line up to give us our ten.

Mr Karl Read announced his engagement today his bird (who's name we don't know Katja), so congratulations Karl. Apprently the got engaged in Rome, and he's kept it quiet til now. Probably to give him time to let all his other lady friends down gently. Not is so well in the Read camp however, as he's got a cold and won't be able to play tomorrow.
With Martie away this week watching Scotland play "for pride" in Slovenia, and Karl with a runny nose, Donny and Jon will be filing the gaps. The teams are now up and were picked by committee this week.
As for MOTM, it looks like Jon is the clear winner - well done to the Scouser!

Two weeks in a row! That's never happened before. It just goes to show all you doubters out there that the teams were unfair either way!
Anyway, great game - very closely fought. I thought the Mincers had it for a while but a good fight back by the Tatties. Away and vote for your MOTM please.
Next week Martie is on holiday but Jon will be filling in which means we have our ten already. If anyone else can't play, please let me know ASAP.

Martie has just announced that he is being forced into a part time role here at Fitbaw! For the foreseeable future, he will be forced to work a back shift every second week, starting this week. Next week, the big man is on holiday so it'll be three weeks til we see Martie back playing. Boo! It's a shame as Martie has played more games than almost anyone this year.
In other news, Craig is back from his Namibia trip and ready and willing to play. Karl isn't back from Paris as yet, but I think he should be able to play on Wednesday. If not, we'll just make him.
Jon is in for Foxy, who is off to the dentist, and I'm waiting on Donny to see if he's going to fill in for Martie. Teams to follow.
UPDATE - Donny couldn't play but Scott can. Teams are up.
