Thanks to El Gordo who managed russle up Dave to play - a real last minute replacement.
Well done to the Tatties for fighting what seemed like an uphill battle all the way to the end. They kept it within 3 most of the way through and there was only 2 in it with 10 minutes to go. The teams weren't as fair as they could have been - sorry. Ringers Law.
According to the mighty spreadsheet, everyone is available for next week - Stuart is back and everyone is injury free! We'll see! Back to pitch 6 next week.

I'm sorry to say that, to date, we only have 9 men. Everyone that we've tried cannot play this week. There are two guys still to get back but time is running away from us so it may mean a 5v4 or a 4v4 with a rolling sub.
Bring both colours of tops if you will please and we'll see what happens.

Cracker of a game last night guys - thanks to all the ringers for filling in.
MOTM is up for those who wish to vote. If you are voting - and please do - would you mind leaving a comment to say who you voted for and why? Ta (make sure that you enter a title for you post and you name for it to appear).
I've also updated the stats. I've noticed that Si and Alan are now both at opposite ends of the table than they were a few weeks ago. Out of everyone, those to seem to go up and down more than anyone else. Stuart is still resolutely at the top of the table and Neil is cunningly holding onto his "1.4" by not playing at all!
On that note, Neil will hopefully be coming back to the office next week which means he's on the way to recovery. He hopes to be back playing by October some time - huzzah!
Next week, as far as I am aware, only Stuart is away (as long as Foxy is able to play). Foxy's dedication is such, that he managed to book the pitch for next week from his sick bed - what a guy! If there is anyone else who can't play, please let me know ASAP.

Well with all our absences this week, I started the hunt early. And by Monday morning, we had 10 players! Huzzah! Brian and Paul had been rounded up by Martie. Al and David has been rounded up by Si. Lovely stuff.
Now, however, Brian is going out for tea with his bird - back to 9. But Foxy is off with suspected glandular fever - eek! So now we have 8. I don't fancy our chances of managing to get another 2 players in time, so rather than end up with a 4 v 5, it might be best to leave it as a 4-a-side.
I will try to get one more player, and if I do, Craig said that he will play (maybe more in goals that normal) to make up the 10.
UPDATE 1 - El Gordo is back his travels tonight and is willing to play so that gives us 10, inlcuding Craig. I'm also persuing another player so Craig doesn't have to play as is Martie.
UPDATE 2 - Si has managed to get a chap called Jon from another SEPA office to play which gives us 10 fully fit players! No idea how good Jon is so no idea what the teams are going to be. Watch this space.
UPDATE 3 - Well Foxy is OK - sound just like old age but he'll be off the rest of the week, resting as per Doctor's orders. Teams have just gone up - big Creeky and Si both picked identical teams but I've tweaked them slightly as one team had all the runners. Unfortunately, we have what Creeky calls "the ringer law" where we never can tell what I new person is like til they play but I'm sure Jon will be better than me and probably win MOTM. :(

I was at the dentist yesterday morning and so didn't have time to put up the MOTM poll and all the normal gubbins. So MOTM is now up - away and vote.
Anyway, it was a good game on Wednesday. The Mince made a great comeback to bring it within two goals, and I had visions of a few weeks ago when Karl scored the winner in injury time! But the Tatties held on and managed to put quite a few away in the last 10 minutes.
It appears Foxy and I underestimated Paul's ability. I just don't remember him being that good. The boy was everywhere and i don't think he stopped running all night, but all credit to the Mince for battling all the way to the end.
Next week the Boy Stu is away (for the next 2 actually) and Big Creeky is ending his 25 game in a row run with a visit to Laandaan. El Gordo may still be on holiay - not sure yet, and Craig's toe is still on the blink - he hasn't had any feeling in it for four days which can't be a good thing! So we are currently four men down - let the hunt begin!

It was never going to happen was it? The 10 regulars actually managing to play oat the same time. El Gordo is off on holiday tomorrow and so has declined to play. Big Alan has a sore ankle and so cannot play. Craig is feeling decidedly worse for wear this morning and asked if we could find him a replacement (nothing todo with the four day bender which included T in the Park I'm sure!).
Enter the SEPA boys Alisdair and the ever present Donny. Also enter Paul - Martie's mate who's played once this year and a few times last year. He's a handy player and officially nuts as he plays Gaelic Football or hurling or some other crazy man sport!
So a lot of talent on show tonight which makes team picking quite tricky - teams will be announced later today.
Thursday, July 07, 2005
Well I think that just goes to prove that the stats are completely worthless! Granted, the Mince may have benefitted by Alisdair playing, but still, on paper, the Tatties had the better team.
Anyway, again, I don't think the scoreline was very reflective of the standard of the game. The Mince were three goals down to start off with and I feared a humping but in the last 15 minutes again, the Tatties just seem to lose a bit of momentum and the goals came for us.
So next week - according to my records, no one is away! That means we have no ringers and we play with the normal 10! That's something that hasn't happened since the 26th of January! Teams to be announced.

Sorry about the delay chaps - I actually had to work yesterday AND go to meetings! Rubbish.
So, teams are up and you may notice that Foxy and Stuart are in the same team this week. Foxy had said that they never get to play in the same team so it's only fair that they get the odd chance - it just means the Mince will have to work a bit harder.
Remeber that it's pitch 7 tonight - bring your camels!
UPDATE - it's just been pointed out to me that tonight we have a top of the table vs a bottom of the table clash! BRING IT ON!
