Old Firm R us - teams picked

Are you Ready?
Gather yer bootz and yer prowess for the 'first' game of the 'last' month...

Right 'o:
The teams have now changed for the 4th time, as Boy Stu has pulled out at the last minute with a cold (1-2-3-awww). Thanks to one of Big Eek's rugby pals Stew for stepping in for the Mince. Can someone who has a spare, make sure he gets a mincer top? So its a Stu for a Stew... otherwise teams are the same.

Creeky.

Well done to Tam for his skill in pciking the teams - a draw was a fair result I suppose but the Mincers shouldn't have let it slip! Well done to the Tatties for a spirited fight back (damn that Brian!).

Creeks has stuck up the MOTM poll. Away and vote!

Next week's teams will be selected by Creeky - let's see if he can get as fair a balance as Tam!

The Tam Selector!

Monday, November 22, 2004

This week's teams have been chosen by Tam and for the first time in a long time, we have a full compliment (minus the AWOL Mikey Tamba and the long term injured Si).

Battle commences at 6:30pm (or 6:40 - Luke's back this week) on pitch 6.

UPDATE - well I spoke too soon, didn't I! Neil has pulled out this morning with a cold (1-2-3 awwwww!) but luckily Brian has agreed to play. Now while I was all in favour of keeping the teams the same and just swapping Neil for Brian, Tam has decided to do a bit of re-selecting.

Back on form!

Thursday, November 18, 2004

Well last night's game was a bit better than the last two weeks eh?

The Tatties took a hard fought, 3 goal lead but the Mince pulled it back and went in front! The Tatties then came back to 5 all where it stayed for about 10 minutes!

The too and fro games are always the best! Well played to all!

On that note, feel free to go and vote for the MOTM!

Same time and place next week but it looks like we have a full compliment! If you can't play, please let me know ASAP!

All change again!

Tuesday, November 16, 2004

  • Martie's in London
  • Tom's in Bolton
  • Craig's in Prague
  • Luke's flat hunting
  • Tamba's AWOL
  • Si is STILL injured

Despite all this, we have still managed to get 10 players! w00t! The 10th player is Graham who has played once before - El Gordo's mate. The teams seem pretty fair - Gordo helped with the picking - so it should be a good game (after last week's debarcle and the previous week's drubbing!)

Reminders to all IDOX players to plaese give me their cash before 5:30pm tomorrow.

UPDATE - Atif has managed to get the flu! Thankfully, Karl (a relatively new start from support) has agreed to play! Woohoo! Cheers Karl! Absolutely no idea what he's like so we'll just have to wait and see!

The Michael Reilly Saga

Monday, November 15, 2004

OK, so after the last game Michael played, I asked him about the following week, knowing we would be needing a few players. Michael agreed to play and I said I would mail him on Monday to confirm.

So Monday came and I sent a mail to "Michael Reilly". What I wasn't aware of was that Mr Reilly had not yer been removed from our work's address book so rather than picking up Michael's email address from my address book, the mail went out to his old work email address which he was never going to see in a million years!

I also made the very cunning move of saying "unless I hear from you, I'll assume you are playing" so I never realised that Michael had never gotten the mail. So sorry for the cock-up last week. I blame the techy's for not removing his email account but you guys can just blame me! Appologies also go to Michael!

I've emailed Michael (to the right address) today so see if he wants a game this week - if he's still speaking to me. Still to hear back so the teams can be sorted once we have a full compliment. Remember, this week's team selection will be made by Martie.

No more young, fit people allowed!

Thursday, November 11, 2004

Well that was a bit of an arse last night with Mikey R not turning up! Luckily, Neil made a new friend whilst fetching one of Creeky's monster clearances (see? they are of use!). So young Kevin played and was damned handy - thank goodness he decided to pass it lots rather than look greedy!
Creeky has stuck up the MOTM poll - away and vote!

Next week there are a few absentees - Tam's in sunny Bolton and Craig's on holiday.

Teams for next week are going to be selected by Martie. Every week I pick them and someone always feels they have a rubbish team so from now on everyone will have a chance! How exciting!

There is only one game tomorrow...

Tuesday, November 09, 2004

And that's the Mince vs The Tatties - none of this old firm nonsence (that's a fore gone conclusion anyway!).

Teams are up though they have undergone a bit of a change since I forgot Foxy will be at Ibrox tomorrow. Scott will be standing in - that's Si's mate from SEPA for those of you who've forgotten. Cheers Scott.

Alan is still injured, Tamba is still AWOL and Luke is down in the big smoke on Wednesday.

El Gordo is meant to be making his comback but is off work today. He promises to be in tomorrow so fingers crossed! If not, things could get interesting! :)

UPDATE - Gordo is in! w00t! But with the inclusion of SEPA Scott, certain Tatties have complained that there would be another humping so Gordo has been swapped.

See what happens when I don't pick the teams?

Thursday, November 04, 2004

Well last night's game wasn't the best was it? Never mind - it's character building to get a good drubbing! ;-) (well seeing I wasn't on the receiving end!)

Creeky's stuck the MOTM for us. Go vote!

Same time, same place next week - I'll sort the teams out when I know who's playing. If you can't, let me know.

Also, Craig is making a late break for the top of the table - last night's win took him off the bottom of the table for the first time since he wrestled it off Neil "back in the day". Congrats Craigo!

Finally, teams sorted

Tuesday, November 02, 2004

Finally managed to get 10 players

Thanks to Michael Reilly and Big Bad Baz who are stepping in to fill the gaps left by Tamba (AWOL), Craig (injured) and Luke (lazy).

Hope it's as good as last week! See you on the battlefield!

Xmas all wrapped up - ho ho ho!

Sorted!

The Hog's Head will reserve us a table for 13 on the 14th December from 6pm onwards. The food is reasonably priced and there are meal deals available too. It's not the best pub but we can get fed and have some drinks, do the awards thing and then move on if we want.

Hangover game on the 15th December
Final game of the season on the 22nd December
Off for Xmas/New Year
New season kicks off 6th January!
