Big it up for the tatties

Thursday, October 28, 2004

Foxy, I have to say, that final kick was... impressive! I don't think I could have matched it even. Did anyone return the ball from the moon after?

Xmas stuff...

I've started a discussion on what the plans are over Xmas and what to do with the kitty - night out anyone? Please give your input or I'll just spend everyone's 60p/game on myself!

There's also a MOTM poll for alst night's game - save the inboxes getting full again (if you can be arsed.)

Next week is 6:30 again (thanks to our new pitch booker of Dr Fox) on pitch 6. Teams will be the regular 11 (minus Luke who is busy and as long as Tamba is OK to play).

DC Get Scared!

Tuesday, October 26, 2004

The challenge match from the DC has been postponed. Their captain, Paul Russell, has a dodge hammy and so has asked if we can re-schedule. That means that the game will be sometime on the next 2 or 3 weeks.

This week's news:

- Tamba's unavailable
- Craig has a stiff neck

That means we have Brian filling in as usual and Uber boss and company director Phil makes his second appearance!

MOTM

Vote!

Good game again last night - all square towards the end but the Mincers pulled away!

Remember next week is 9:30pm - let me know if this is going to be a problem.

Contenders READY!

Wednesday, October 20, 2004

The Distribution Center have had the audacity to challenge us, the kings of 5-a-side, to a "friendly" match in 2 weeks. I hope this is OK but I have accepted their puney challenge. So in two weeks, on the Wendesday 3rd November, a select side from IDOX (Sorry Stu,Martie and Luke - or maybe we could get "temporary" contracts for them - bring in the ringers!) with take on the DC (no Dawson's Creek jokes Tom).

The game will be at the normal time of 6:30pm, and we're allowed rolling rubs which means we can use all 7 IDOX regulars and run them off the park. The squad will be:

  • Me
  • Foxy
  • Alan
  • Creeky
  • Neil
  • Craigo
  • Big Tam El Bam

Mikey Tamba had been chosen to join the opposition as they are short of numbers and he used to work there - the DC's decision, not mine.

Next week's game is just a normal one with the exception that it's at 9:30. I was in early and called them about 8:55am but didn'y get through til after 9 by which time the pitches had all gone for 6:30 and 6:00pm - baws. If anyone can't play then, please let me know ASAP.

Alan goes back on top of Foxy!

Morning Chaps,

Tamba has written a match report for last week.

Sounded like a good game last night - what a comeback! The first time ever any team has managed to comeback and win from more than three goals down! Please go and vote for your MOTM - although the chat is that this week, it's a one horse race! ;-)

Wee pitch next week :(. I'll sort the teams out then.

In case anyone still looks at the stats, Alan is back on top (just), Neil is no where near the bottom anymore and Mr Tamburrini hasn't won a game since his return!

Normal Service Resumed!

Monday, October 11, 2004

Thanks to Creeks and Tom (who are both off this week anyway - holiday but not together they tell me) for looking after this place. It all went reasonable smoothly - apart from poor Foxy being left out last week!

So Foxy is back in this week, Luke is feeling better and El Gordo is playing again. I can't play this week so Big Brian is filling in.

Don't have time to sort the teams - someone else can pick them - but the 10 players are:

  1. Martie
  2. Luke
  3. Gordo
  4. Neil
  5. Foxy
  6. Brian (Martie's mate - the handy one)
  7. Tamba
  8. Alan
  9. Stu
  10. Craigo
Same time as usual (6:30pm) but on pitch 6 this week.

Another close battle

Rubber Baws!! Mince lost for the second week in three, in a close run game. While Tamba hopefully will write up another match report, Go and vote!!! for your Man of the Match.

Tamba's match report for last week!

Tuesday, October 05, 2004

Yes, at last, we've all been waiting for it...

The first match report from pundit Tamba for a long while!

El Gordo steps in as Luke retires sick

We're back to 10 men after Luke calls in sick for tomorras game. Ranked number 1 for the reserves, El Gordo (the fat one) steps in and will no doubt cause the mince all kinds of problems!

Nite out for the Fitba boys, this Thursday!

Talking to some of you on Friday there was some interest in having a small night out at the QMU on Thursday night... where coincidentally my band are playing.

Details are on the website: www.murnie.com

If anyone wants a ticket put aside, let me know. I know it's a pain to make a decision before the night, but for this venue the more tickets we sell, the later we'll be going on. Which is a good thing.

Chat here about it in the forum
