Official Fitbaw Club Rules

These are the rules that make the games as fair as possible that we've built up over the years:

• The match kicks off when all ten players are on the park and ready to go
• If there are any goals scored in the knock about before the final player arrives then the scores are reset to 0-0
• The match ends when the next set of players enter the park or after a maximum of five minutes extra time - which ever comes first
• If someone gets injured during the game and has to go in goals then the game carries on. Shit happens - get over it
• If the injury is really serious and the player has to go off then we'll decide what to do based on the score, time of going off, etc.
• Honesty is required in all instances. If you handle the ball, own up to it. If you play the ball in the area, own up to it, etc.
• To win "Man of the Match" you have to vote - if you don't vote, then any votes you have won't count
• You cannot vote for yourself in "Man of the Match"
• No tactical voting in "Man of the Match" ya cheating so-and-so!!
• The final game to count towards "Player of the Year" is the last one before the night out at Christmas - any games after that do not count
• No slide tackles allowed. It is permitted to slide on the park if it's to intercept a pass, block a shot, etc, but in no circumstances can you ever use a slide for a tackle. If a man is in possession of the ball and you want to tackle him, stay on your feet son!
• In the unfortunate event that we can only get 8 players then the 4v4 games will still count towards the stats as it's still a competative game

Hat of Doom

The "Hat of Doom" (extra "o"s are available depending on how scary you want to make it) is used when we have more than 10 hardcore players available for selection. In the first instance, the 10 players are given the option of a week off from Fitbaw - a kind of voluntary rest period. If they accept then there is no need for the Hat. Note, if a player does take voluntary rest then they are still in the Hat for a later time.

If no one wants a week off, then a name is drawn from the "Hat of Doom". That unlucky person has to take the week off but their name stays out the Hat for future draws and will only go back in the Hat once everyone has been drawn out at some point. This list carries over from season to season.

If your name is drawn from the Hat and at some point before the game kicks off someone drops out, then you have first choice of getting back into the squad for that week's game. If you do so then your name will be put back into the Hat.
